Governance
The Treat it Queer Foundation is governed by an officially appointed executive Board, responsible for steering the organization’s strategic planning and decision-making.
The current Board members are:
Juan R. Mora Barrios (MD, MPH, M.Sc.) [He/Him] - Chair
Marina Bikou (MD) [She/They] - Co-coordinator of the Education Team
Meg McGrath (MSW, LICSW) [They/Them] - Co-coordinator of the Education Team
Brendan Clay (B.Sc., MLIS) [He/They] - Coordinator of the Communication Team
Momo Wijngaarde (B.Sc.) [She/Her] - Treasurer
The Board is supported in its mandate by an Advisory Board, composed of previous Board members and tasked with providing strategic guidance.

Treat it Queer applies strict financial accountability principles to ensure that all funds received are used exclusively for its public benefit objectives. All income and expenditures are recorded in a transparent and structured financial administration, supported by invoices and bank records. Financial performance is regularly monitored against this budget. Payments are made through the organization’s official bank accounts.
At the end of each fiscal year, the organization prepares financial statements including a balance sheet and income/expenditure overview. These are reviewed and approved by the Board and, where applicable, an independent accountant. Treat it Queer maintains only limited reserves to ensure continuity and long-term stability, in accordance with its statutory objectives.

Treat it Queer does not provide salaries, attendance fees or other financial benefits to board members or volunteers. All members serve on a voluntary basis and are only entitled to a pre-specified reimbursement of reasonable expenses incurred in the performance of their duties, such as travel or administrative costs, provided these are properly documented and approved.
